Great variety of games
All in all, this is a great game for having such a variety of different games to play. Our family favorite is the bowling which seems to get pretty intense with four of us playing and the ball handling is great. I have played other bowling games before and this seems to be about the best I've found so far. The tennis is addicting, although now since I have mastered it and have gotten over 2100, I always play the same two people, those with a score of 1900 and 2000 and even though I can win three games straight I seem to still lose points instead of gaining anything. They need other computer players to play with a score more than 2000. Guess I've gotten up as far as I can. Have even made up other players for myself just to play the other computer players, although it doesn't last since I now seem to beat them with ease. Would have been nice to go on the internet and play others around the world, like in MarioKart. Also when playing only (nine ball) in pool, it doesn't seem to matter if you don't sink the balls in order as long as you hit the right number ball first. Other than that, this game is great for the variety and keeps you busy for hours.

Good Set Of Mini Games
The standalone game is good, however it is lacking in a few aspects.I played all the mini games through to collect the gold medals, but in reality the only 2 I kept coming back to were the 9-ball game and the Tank Game. The life of this game is only extended when playing with another person for a short while before it gets a bit boring. To me, this game seemed more like a tech demo than an actually game. I recommend getting it, but not the standalone version. Get the version with a wii-mote because then it'd be like picking this up for about .

Wii Play Game
The product was exactly as ordered with a fair price and delivered in a reasonable amount of time. I am a happy customer.

Great Game
The ping pong game is very addicting!
The cow racing game and shooting game are great when 2 people are playing.
Too bad this game doesn't have a 4 player mode.

It's OK.
I actually bought a Wii bundle that came with two remotes already so I went out of my way to buy this game only package and it isn't that great. The wife and I played it for a little while but I don't see myself putting it in that often.

Still as unrealistic as ever
This is a fun game in many ways, but with some very frustrating drawback. EA Sports has been producing this game for 17 years now and they have received the same criticism for all those years - still they seem unable to do anything about it.

Here goes:
1. As in every other NHL-game in this series, the AI is very bad. Even if you play at the most advanced level, you will very soon dominate the game completely.
2. The goaltenders are just as pathetic as ever. To compensate for not being able to create a decent AI that could make the game challenging, EA Sports insteade made the CPU goaltender almost impossible to score against while your own goalie will drop in almost every puck.

The consequence of these two drawbacks are simple. You'll dominate each and every game completely, but you'll still loose. Be prepared for you shooting 70 shots and scoring 1 goal while the CPU will shoot 3 shots and score 2 goals. The result is that the games in NHL09 don't resemble real hockey games.

All in all, this is a fun game if you play agains friend (and these days it's the only thing I use it to do) but totally useless if you want to play against the computer as EA Sports hasn't been able to develop an AI that would produce realistic games despite 17 years of experience. It would be time for them to stop putting out almost the same game year after year and start focusing on getting the game to work instead.

Nhl 09
This is the worst game I have ever played!!! If you dont mind the computer dictating the game for you go ahead and purchase it

NHL09
The Game is awesome and the new be a pro section lets you start at 18 in the AHL and then pursue your career into the NHL.

Nice idea, terrible execution.

Let me begin by saying, the graphics and sounds are all great. The be-a-pro-mode is also really fun, and I still like the dynasty mode. But that's where it ends.

The gameplay, nuts and bolts, are simply terrible. Let's begin with the skating, physics there seem to be fine. Even realistic, but this is where the realism ends. The physics of the puck are totally befuddling. Blocked shots gain speed and seem to always go to open cpu players. The netminders are omnipotent and your shooters will be terrible.

After updating to version 1, I found the only way to score is wrap arounds and half wraps. Why do wide open one-timers from 10 feet away, in the slot, not work anymore? So many easy shots are up out of play or completely wide. So many passes are missed or intercepted, for no clear reason.

Your teammates AI is very poor on offense and disappointing on defense. Don't ever expect your mates to make smart plays. They prefer to just take penalties and run into each other, or skate around randomly.

The CPU goalie is fantastic, constantly making stunning saves, while your goalie lets in 50 foot backhand goals. The CPU scores on one-timer rebounds while the goalie is in position, you will fail to score on a rebound with a half open net constantly.

The online play is also very poor. The lag is simply awful, especially on slap shots. They literally turn into lobbed slow-pitch softballs some of the time. The passes and skating also experience unusual slowdowns and the goalies glitch/freeze sometimes. I figured at least the online play would be fun.

I've owned every NHL game since 1993, with 1 exception, NHL 06, and this is arguably the worst of all. The puck behaves very unusually, the goalies are too inconsistent, the shooters can't find the net and the AI is entirely random. I am very unhappy I wasted on this game.

Loads of fun
Lots of fun. Similar to NHL 08 but with better graphics, and more realistic movements. Overall great game, i recommend it.

RailSim
Excellent graphics and a wide variety of scenarios sure to please a train enthusiast. My only wish was that there were better playing guides included, such as how to set switches, etc...

Retionalistic Simula
Rail Simulator works as described. I spent many hours learning operations and driving the trains.

Railsimulator not so difficult after all
Railsimulator has been out for 12 months, so I thought I would buy it hoping that some of the earlier reported bugs are now fixed. To my delight, they have been fixed and the sim was very easy to install and run. To get the most out of the sim you need to register at the RS web site where there is a wealth of helpful advice to get started plus the added bonus of free downloads which include rolling stock, scenarios and fixes and upgrades to make the sim very stable with nice fluid graphics. Also available at the RS site are links to other sites where you can obtain more free stuff and of course payware addons. Overall I am very happy with sim and consider it to be exceptional value.

All Aboard
Are you ready to see america the right way. Then see america the way she was meant to be seen, while riding the rails that tie our country together. ALL ABOARD, this train is bound for glory land.

Memory hog, no fun
After taking forever to load, Rail Simulator never worked properly on our PC. My sons proclaimed it a dud. It's already become Tag Sale fodder in our house.

just what my granadson ordered
I ordered this for my youngest grandson as his older brother wouldn't SHARE with him...(his words; not mine)
He loves it. Thanks; excellent product and fast delivery

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
I was excited to see both Risk and Clue in one game. The Risk is pretty good, and I enjoy playing for a short while, but as other reviewers have commented, the AI has no sense of strategy. Battleship seems okay except the AI sure seems like it peeks, since if you start to look like you are winning, it 'finds' your ships in a big hurry. CLUE has NO CLUE. One of the basic tenents of the game is that if you make a suggestion and no one can disprove it (and of course you don't have any of those cards) then that HAS TO BE THE CORRECT ANSWER. Not for this game. That practical idea gets you a loss in a hurry.

Classic
There are classic games that most of us played as children, and maybe still play. Now you can take them anywhere and play them. Enjoy these three classics.

not bad
graphics are ok, music is repetitive, the "Clue" game kinda sucks. then sometimes young people do drugs and; well you know.

Very fun game
I love risk, so this game is really good for me. It is a great portable, cheap game of risk, battleship...
The only reason I gave this a 4 star instead of 5 is because you can not play risk on multiplayer.

Otherwise, I love this game

fun fun fun
My husband is an avid RPG'er and he had lost this game when moving to KY. I bought it for him and he loves it

I bought it twice
I repurchased this game after selling it two years ago. True, it's similar to the previous series, but the big difference is replay value on the Plain of Eternity. Whatever your character--like that mistress of death and disease, the shadow elf--you'll revisit boss fights that let you retreat while setting devious traps.
In particular, and my reason for repurchase, is the Soul Break stage. You've escaped a cell, with only your fists to fight with. You must release other captives while dealing with skeletons, giants, and carnivorous flying fish. Handily, dynamite kegs are plentiful for setting traps and barriers. You can even barricade yourself in a cell while healing up. One of the faq sites has a way to level up weak characters, who really have no chance here.
Strong points: full camera control with 2-level zoom in; nearly unlimited level up ability; various glitches, such as bosses who unexpectedly walk through your barrier. Weak points: hard to say. It would be nice to have the kind of atmospherics in the Dreamcast game Draconus: bird sounds, distant wolves, rain, midnight waterfalls. Also, enemies don't regenerate, so it can get lonely looking for the key to the next level. But that's what faqs are for.

play again and again!
If you like Balder's Gate and Champions of Norrath, then you'll love this game. The best two-player game out there. We played again and again with different characters. I just wish there was a sequal to this one...

Quick and Efficient!!!
The game i purchased for my husband was just what he wanted and he loves playing this game. the payment process was quick and simple and our package arrived in an efficient timely manner and could not be happier with the product. thanks so much!!!

Great addition
I have been really happy with this game. The new weapons are cool and a nice addition. Most classes get a new spell or two. I don't really care for the two new character classes, but I am sure they have their good points. I really like the option of going through the game on the side of good or evil - it gives the game a little better replay value (I would replay it anyway). Bonus games are a nice touch too. When you beat the bonus levels/bosses the game usually gives some sort of upgrade to your characters stats.

simple and fun
This is a cute easy game that kept both my 5 yr old and 7 yr old busy. It is simple for young ones to play and engaging enough to keep them entertained.

great for preschoolers
i bought this game based on a review by another customer. my 4 year old loves it. she wanted a DS because her older cousin had one but a lot of the games were frustrating because she doesn't read that well. Smart girl's playhouse is fun, educational and entertaining. perfect game for a little girl her age.

Great for Toddlers
Was not going to get any DS game for a toddler, but after my little two year old kept taking my DS and messing up my saved games when I wasn't looking, I went ahead and tried this game. Wasn't sure how it would work out but it ended up being a great purchase! Now my daughter can play her very own game without having me sit next to her to give directions. She loves being such a big girl, and tells me how she can do it all by herself.

I have my DS system set to go directly to the game, so there is nothing that she can mess up. It's great for little ones - 3 to 5 years old.

There are 12 games. For Smart Girl's Playhouse they are: Coloring, find differences, dress up, match sounds, play piano, puzzle, picture match, drawing, counting, play instruments, Lunch box, Feed hampsters, and options.
The options is just birthday (month and day) of the child and the parents. So, nothing that matters if it gets changed a dozen times.

We also have Smart Boy's Gameroom - It's the exact same games except for 3. You loose the very girly ones: feed hampster, making lunch box, and dress up. Those are changed to: car driving, train station, and exterminate monsters (which is the same concept as feed hampsters)

There is also the game: Smart Kid's Gameroom which is both games on the same cartridge. I do not need or want duplicate games, but from what I can tell, when you turn it on - it gives you the option of which game you want to play - the boy's gameroom, or the girls playhouse. So it is just the two games saved onto one cartridge.

Also, very little reading - the main words used in each mini game are: Back, Quit, Next, Redo, Done! Even at that - there's no need to read them. Its very simplified, and easy to figure out which button does what.

With playing piano, there is "record, playback, stop, quit", and in drawing, there are "stamps" and "paint". Those two extra features are the only ones my daughter struggles with - she doesn't seem to care about those features yet, so figure she'll like those extras as she grows.

Overall, they have been great games, and my daughter loves them both, and perfect for her level.

simple game
its a decent product if ur kids r under 5. the games r fairly easy to beat even for my 4 year old.

So Your Preschooler Wants to Play Your DS...
... then let them in on the action with this fun mini game collection geared for younger players. My three year old started playing this around her 3rd Birthday (it was one of her gifts) and she loved it, playing it for hours. Some uninformed family members were worried about her "wasting time" playing video games, but in reality, it is an educational title.

The mini games are varied and fun, including a "feed the hamster" pop a mole type game, a coloring section where you can color in coloring pages or freestyle draw like a simple paint program, there's matching games, musical such as a piano where you touch the piano keys on the screen, and a dress-up paper doll kind of game. The game rewards you doing well by animating the coloring pages when they are done, etc. There are more games than these, but those were the ones that held my daughter's interest the longest.

It's a fun title that is definitely for the 3-5 year age group. Children over that age are probably ready for more challenging titles and would be bored with the laidback, easy approach of this game. However, its perfect for the little one that wants to play DS like her bigger siblings (or like mom and dad).

On that note, the Smart Kid's Gameroom is a combination of both Boy and Girl "Smart" DS titles, and is even a better buy since you get almost twice as many games.

Awesome!
My son is 12 years old and loves this game. He is easily frustrated by DS games that have bad graphics or aren't easy to control. He gives this a 5 star because it is easy to control and the graphics are great.

A BIG LETDOWN
This is one of the suckiest games I have ever played in the Madden franchise. There are so many rediculous things about this game I don't even know where to begin. Let's start with some small annoying things; when the ball is hiked the sound that is supposed to be players pads colliding but instead sounds like some messed up factory machine clanking rapidly; every time there is a kickoff the ref has to walk all the way up and down the field to place the ball and it takes like 20 seconds! It is so annoying! The field goal system sucks, it causes a lot of missed extra points which is unrealistic. Getting turnovers is damn near impossible. On field goal blocks defensive backs bob their heads up and down like african lizards, the passing system sucks-I have payton manning and randy moss and I still can't get the passing game going. The icons on the top screen are totally worthless. I cannot comprehend which moron was allowed to approve that system. There are all these different icons which are supposed to represent different players talents but it does almost nothing to enhance gameplay. THERE IS NO CHALLENGE SYSTEM TO CLOSE CALLS! And the list goes on and on and on...... Don't buy this game. Save your money for the console version. Take my word for it.

Tough for a newbie, but.....
I have never picked up an EA game until I bought my DS a couple months ago, and I had to try this, given the hype. Since I am a newbie, it seems overwhelming to try to pick up on all the nuances, the various plays, which player to control, how to control the kicker (both power and accuracy) and the like, but you know what? It is a heck of a lot of FUN! I play with my favorite team, the Vikings, and Adrian Peterson will still break off a 70 yard run despite my flaws on which buttons to mash. I have started the training modes, and can give an update later, but if you are a football fan, this is a must have.

DDR-Good for the tween
My tween plays with this for hours and also with her friends. It also keeps her fit. It's great!

Great to try out DDR, but...
These pads should be thought of as disposable. They are very cheap, both price and craftsmanship. Mine lasted about 1 week before they became glitchy (about 8 hours of play by a 100 pound person in socks) and another week before they were truly useless. Glitchy = frustration, especially for children.
If you're curious about DDR, but not sure if you will love it, then these pads are for you. It can be expensive to buy the nice pads, especially if you arn't sure you'll love the game, so this is an affordable way to play. Rent the game, and buy a cheap pads, and you're out less than . If you have access to an arcade with DDR, save yourself the money and try the game in the arcade.
I tried the game, loved it, and bought nicer pads. If you love the game, do yourself a favor and buy a nicer mat that will last.
The only other reason to buy these is for guests. If you don't want to let someone abuse your nice game pad, then these disposable pads are something to consider.

Don't be fooled by the similarity to the official pad
These are far from them. The underside has no grip to them, ensuring that the pad will slip on uncarpeted floors. The sensors are unresponsive, and your money would best be spent elsewhere.

Buyer beware, you really do get what you pay for.

DDR Player - yay
This game has some pretty good songs but it seems like an older version. I think a lot more could have been done with the graphics. It really sucks that a lot of the good songs don't even play all the way through. It was worth the bucks I payed but I definitely have more fun playing the newer versions at the arcade.

DDR mats helpful and fun but slide a lot
We have tons of fun with the DDR Dance Pads, but you have to be careful because they do move a lot.

Ferrari Challenge
Ferrari Challenge is kind of like playing playing Formula 1 Championship Edition except that you are using only Ferraries. In my opion if you already have Formula 1 don't buy Ferrari Challenge.

Great racing game, perfect for Ferrari fans
The graphics in this game are amazing in HD. It's a simulation racing game, but you can instantly jump in and play. Of course you will need to learn how to drive properly, and each car handles differently. When you start off, the only car you are allowed to race with is the F430.

You can play up to 16 people online, and on 16 different tracks according to IGN. I haven't unlocked them all yet. It features all the cars from the Ferrari challenge series, and a mixture of others. It's a great racing game, but isn't too deep. All in all, great for racing fans. I love it because I love Ferrari. If nothing else, it's great on the eyes.

Nice Game...
This is a nice game... not too much difficult... excellent graphics, music... but it has a big problem when it comes to the replays... it gets stucked when you press the replay button... it just plays the replay in one mode and you can't do nothing just to restart the console, so there's no chance for you to rotate or change the replay mode...

Anyway in overall its a nice Ferrari game... too many Ferraris drives you crazy... and you can customize your cars... good for System 3!

Great Ferrari experience on the PS3
The game is good, a change from the old standby of GT5:Prologue.

Please note that the description mentions split-screen multiplayer, this game does not have this (has LAN and online multiplayer).

Ferrari lover's must have
this is a good game for Ferrari lover's, it has good graphics and the game play is fun.

Ninja Gaiden
This was a gift for my boyfriend, and he loved it. The price was a bit steep, but most video games are. I was proud to buy it from Amazon because they always take such good care of my account and purchases.

Do you remember when games were hard?
Whatever happened to Nintendo thumb? Sure relatively new games like Gears of War come with some visual teeth, if no real challenge. Resident Evil 4 had some scenes of panic at first. Even Men of Valor on the old Xbox had its frustrating moments of cheap kills out of nowhere. But these games are all pussy cats. Now days, 8-12 hour and sometimes less, play for the main campaign is considered normal. We really aren't getting our money's worth. Instead, the developers try to focus us on multiplayer elements that really don't take the same imagination to design around, leaving the single player story thin and short. Well I like multiplayer, but my friends aren't always around. Single player is the breadwinner for me on most games.

As a kid back in the 80s, it took years, YEARS i say, to beat some games, if I even braved the time to beat them. These were games you had to take real time off from to avoid throwing the NES out the door. Megaman 1 was one of those break the controller or break your thumb games. I never did see the end of Battletoads. Of course, there was the original Ninja Gaiden. It too was a study of time and patience to memorize jump timing in every moment on almost every level to succeed. The designers really WANTED to beat you down. Even the movie "King of Kong" proved this point in a way with Donkey Kong. That is a really hard game, even after all these years. So why have games become so easy? Who knows. But those days came back thanks to Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden.

I did my first tour of the new Ninja Gaiden back on Xbox and here we get the same old goodness. Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a great throwback in many ways not only to the old NES classics in theme, but also in its brutal challenge. Team Ninja are absolute masochists. Ninja Gaiden Sigma is only slightly softer than its Xbox cousin, slightly as in almost invisibly. This game is hard. The multi hit combos take time to pull off right, save points aren't helpful and bosses can be punishing. This is not a bad thing. Multiplayer or not, I for one am sick and tired of running through most of these games in a few hours or a day and then what? And for the most part, multiplayer dynamics have changed very little since Goldeneye. Its minutiae we're looking at here folks.

Ninja Gaiden, here in its second update, basically a re-release of NG Black, still plays great and offers real challenge in the face of easy shallow gaming of today. Part 2 on 360 was bloody fun and difficult also, but to me, clearly felt unfinished. Sigma on the PS3 is a good update. You get a new character in the name of Rachel to play as, which is fun for a few minutes at least. The updated visuals are clean and shiny, if a bit too shiny and plasticky. Environments are nice but textures are a bit simple. Lighting effects though, have improved greatly. In short, they get the job done for PS3. The camera is still evil, even if you can move it, there is rarely an optimum spot to see and because of it, bad guys come from nowhere frequently. So its not perfect for sure. Sigma is budget priced, but you'd think after so many years, Sony and Tecmo could knock at least another off the price by now.

Nevertheless, the satisfying visuals, fast paced action and infuriating challenge assure if you can deal with the awful camera and you're game to advance your skills over some time, this one won't feel like a waste of money like most games out there. Sigma, like its two Xbox predecessors and at least two NES ancestors is a guaranteed good buy. Ninja Gaiden is classic, entertaining and absolutely unforgiving. It even comes with complimentary Nintendo thumb.

Unleash your inner ninja the hard way
I'm not really a big fan of difficult games. There always seems to be a feeling like I'm not having fun and progressing in the game but rather having to somehow win out over cheap moves, overwhelming odds and sporadic use of save points. I can't just chalk it up to being a beginner player either since I've been playing since the days of Duck Hunt and having to blow on the cartridge to get it to run but even back then, Ninja Gaiden games, like Contra, were tough as hell and that tradition hasn't changed a single bit. With spruced up graphics, bit more additions and changes, the game's still fun as ever and just as hard as you remember, whether 20 years ago or 3.

Story: You play (mainly) as Ryu, a ninja in the Hayabusa clan. But when the village's sword is stolen, the maiden slain and you knocked out by the evil Doku, it's up to Ryu to get revenge and get the Dark Dragon Sword back. Occasionally you'll meet up with/play as Rachel, a well-endowed female with a big axe who's searching for her twin sister, Alma. The story at times is convoluted and a bit too familiar and I can just imagine the MIDI music playing during a text-cutscene whenever I read this story like in the old days but it works well enough though I wish there was more diverse environments.

Graphics: The game is basically a remake of a remake since the original Ninja Gaiden was released on the Xbox and then an enhanced version was released a year later (!) called Ninja Gaiden Black. This is basically the same but it's basically been "HD'd". The character and enemy animations are smoother and crisper and the fluidity is constant. Only problem is the backgrounds, except for the first few chapters which look awesome, are bland and there's the occasional screen tearing and "Now Loading" screens during exploration, combat and even opening up a chest despite the optional install. It feels like more time could've been used to make it seamless but having the game load just so you can open a chest just seems strange.

Sound/Music: The music's rather inconsistent at times since some works like the more ambient stuff such as a Phendrana Drifts-esque piece from Metroid Prime during an ice level but then occasionally it hits us with turgid rock or bass-and-drums music with some electronica flourishes and it's like "ugh". Also, the voice acting at times is rather flat and 1996-ish in its delivery since it's either melodramatic to the point of distracting or it's so wooden, it's like they just said their lines and be done with it.

Gameplay: The basic idea of the game is with your various weapons at your disposal, you hack and slash and block and dodge (key things you must use to survive) through the 19 chapters. The nice thing is that the combo system for once is intuitive and never did I feel like I couldn't get a handle out of fighting enemies. This is different than in God of War where enemies would break your combos or not spawn in time to keep your combo meter going and somehow seem to phase through your attacks to nail that cheap blow. Once you get the hang of how you play, going through the game is easy. Well, that's a lie since enemies are just as smart with the occasional cheapie and you'll die and die a lot and without checkpoints, it's very common to be sent back rather far. Some games you can get through by lucking out or timing things right, Sigma requires mastery really.

The fighting system is easy to understand despite the tough enemies but I'll be frank: the platforming sections suck and be prepared for lots of missed jumps, Ryu falling to the floor despite your knowing of what to do and the wild camera which you constantly wrestle with doesn't help matters. The segments where you use them look like fun and running from wall-to-wall is cool, it's just Ryu is so finicky in his movements that it makes what should be cool moments tedious.

The other inclusion is the ability to play as Rachel for the occasional mission and though she's not as fun as Ryu, she's at least functional and not some cheap character who can't do simple things right. Only thing is that there's not a lot of missions where you actually play as her but the option to see her large...chest area is welcome. But her axe is bulky and slow but powerful but still doesn't help when she's not Ryu-fast and timing and counterattacks are used instead.

While the difficulty is very oft-putting and the platforming sections are nightmares, the fighting and flying across the screen to lop heads off is oh-so-satisfying and makes for one of the funnest action titles on the Playstation 3...just watch your yelling and controller-throwing tendencies on this one.

After first play though kill kill
You just kill lots of stuff in this game and they try and kill you!

dont bother unless you have never played anoter version of this game
this game is very fun. however i give it a one star over all because of the way it was marketed. i own and love ninja gaiden black. i bought this game because i kept hearing about all the "added content" and "improved graphics". the added content is quite lame. this game actually has less to unlock than the "black" version, besides a few added cut scenes and a couple of addition boss battles that do nothing to enhance the story (they only provided me with irritation) this version has very little to offer. in the way of graphics. i was very disappointed. its debatable that the graphics are improved at all over "black". thats not good for a next gen system. the cut scenes which i love actually were worse because they took out the pretty cgi and used in game graphics. the difference wasnt that apparent but when you look close there were many more jagged lines where before they were smooth.
i will say that if you own a ps3 and have not played ninja gaiden black then deffinately pick this up. its very fun.
