Use Logitech Vantage USB Microphone with Windows Vista
This microphone can also be used to record with a PC. I've used it to record my voice & guitar on a laptop running MS Vista and it has given me surprisingly good results, considering the investment. I just plugged it into a USB port and Vista did its thing installing drivers, etc. and said the device was ready to use. Opened Audacity and started recording. Can't beat it for simplicity and cost economy.

Replacement Mike for Rock Band
This is a quality product that is reasonably priced...especially after your kids wear out the original Rock Band mike!

Works well with Xbox 360 RockBand
I bought this because I did not need the complete instrument set for RockBand. I was worried if the game would recognize the microphone or not. The microphone worked very well and would recommend it to anyone looking for one to purchase to use on RockBand.

Kids love it
I have the American Idol Karaoke game, and my kids were always fighting over the microphone to sing it since it came with only one. Finally I decided to purchase another mic so they can sing together. I chose this one, and it has impressed me so far. It works really well, no problems at all...except reminding them that it is hooked to the xbox360, so they can't run through the house singing with it. :)

Works with Rock Band
I am not a singer but this is fun to use with Rock Band. I bought the game without the instruments and use my GH III wireless Les Paul.

This is a corded microphone. The fifteen foot length is plenty for most situations. It can plug directly in your console if you have a free slot or into a USB hub.

If you prefer black you can get the same Logitech Vantage model that's marked for the PS3 and PS2. That's what I did and it works fine with the 360.

The microphone also works on Windows Vista. Just plug it in and the driver will be installed automatically.

Harder and more complex than the first Risk.
I have played both versions of risk and while I like both games this version is more of a challenge. You can play three different ways,1. Classic version can be played,2. Tournament, which has many levels with different missions on each level,3. Same Time, which is another level in which all combatants move at the same time. I like the added challenge of same time but you'd better patience and cunning.

ONLINE RISK PLAY
Bought RISK 2 couple weeks ago, played it online second day,at "WAR ZONE".The best of all worlds, can host game on line and play diffrent people around the world.Have played people from NORWAY and BRAZIL in the last 2 days.Just remimber only 1 winner in the game, be a good sport when you lose. I lose more than I win but still fun.
P.S.Does not have to be the "risk server" link to play risk at war zone, ones you have server you chose risk game link.

Good but network game has limitation
Good game play and visuals. Issues:

1. Network LAN play requires a minimum of three players. And, there is no way, that I can see, to create a third player as a computer opponent. Why not allow two players? This is bizarre, no worse, its cuckoo. Totally wacko. Its like today I was at the shoe store and the salesperson said, "we have a sale on socks. Buy a pair and get half of the other." But, I have two feet! What am I going to do with half a pair of socks?
2. Is this product supported by any company? No where to ask anything about it.

Bottom line, its ok.

A Great Game!
Just like I remembered it as a kid! The whole family enjoys this computer version of the popular board game.

Big hit
My daughter is having a great time with this game and would play for hours, if I let her. Totally satisfied.

Awesome game
My son enjoys the humor in the video clips and thinks the character abilities are "awesome".

Pretty fun game, but very easy
This game adds a douse of combat to the classic Crash Bandicoot performer style. This game has great graphics, nice character design, and good music. But all the levels are kind of the same, the game is easy to beat, and it is just very easy. Buy it if you are a die-hard Crash fan like me, but for everyone else, I would suggest a trip to the local Blockbuster.

IT WON'T BLOW YOUR MIND, BUT IT'S DECENT 7 OUT OF 10
Crash of the Titans gives the beleaguered platforming icon; Crash; some new life, but it still has a ways to go before achieving the status the franchise had on the original Playstation and fix the mistakes made by past predecessors (Much like Spyro). This game churns out decent results as a kids game, but it did little to impress me with something new.
WHAT THE GAME IS: Crash's arch nemesis Neo Cortex, and his niece Nina Cortex plan for world domination (Gee, what a surprise) and are turning the local woodland creatures into towering, hideous-looking titans. So it is up to Crash to save the world, and do some serious a**-kicking to a number of villains. So you fight enemies, "jack" titans, make your jacked titan beat the crap out of more enemies, fight bosses, and of course platforming.
GRAPHICS: Cute, cartoony look with vibrant colors and environments and cool character designs, but textures are a little sloppy.
MUSIC: It will only bore you, don't even bother trying to enjoy it. The crappy music is one of the game's low points.
SOUND: Decent voice-acting, random one-liners from enemies, beating the crap out of enemies, and Crash's annoying animal grunts (Shut the hell up already!).
GAMEPLAY: The gameplay is average, but the monster jacking feature; a feature in which an enemy that is near death can be commandeered, ridden, and forced to do your bidding by defeating enemies and solving environmental puzzles; is a welcome feature that is a lot of fun and feels innovative, but it can't cover up all of the lackluster gameplay. Luckily, there is the greatly appreciated co-op feature which makes this game a lot more fun if you play it with a friend. Controls work fine, but the camera can be particularly frustrating during the platforming sequences, especially when you play this game on co-op, and can cause you to be put in a blind spot and you can die unfairly. But, most of the features work properly, but they still need more polish because the game feels undercooked and shallow.
OVERALL: Kids will probably enjoy it, but the more hardcore gamers will not enjoy it so much because the various little bugs that could have been corrected during the game's development. But this game got lucky with me, usually I'm not kind at all to kids games which is why I went down in infamy for my review of The Bible Game which earned me a large group of haters and not-so-nice comments from angry parents. I found it to be fairly enjoyable, but it still has a lot of things to fix before the franchise can truly be restored, but the game's saving graces are co-op play, monster jacking, decent graphics, and some moderately interesting challenges. But I'd have to recommend Over the Hedge more than this game because the various interesting challenges, lots of missions, and tons of unlockable goodies to be found, and great multiplayer. This game is still worth a look however.
THE GOOD: Co-op, decent graphics, moderately interesting challenges, lovable crew of characters, and monster jacking.
THE BAD: Outside of co-op and monster jacking the gameplay is lackluster, story is boring, music is crappy, and it feels rather shallow.

Good but not great
I have gotten every crash bandicoot game so far. So when this game came out I had to get it. I thought that it was cool that they added a co-op option. Some of the bad parts were it did seem a bit repetitive and really didn't even feel like their were bosses. In previous crash games I have enjoyed the whole warp room thing. I hope in the next game they go back to the warp rooms. Over all I thought this game was good, just not great. It really didn't feel like a crash bandicoot game to me though.

A Work of Art
I was a fan of Crash from the start his first three Naughty Dog titles were great then things began to get bad after Crash was bought out it seemed as though Vivendi Universal thought that they could live on the popularity of Crash and Spyro and that alone. Then they tried gimmicks "lets liven up these old characters, it can't be our games the characters must be wrong." They came up with Twinsanity a relatively good game but it just didn't have... Well it's hard to describe but let just say it just wasn't right.

Finally though Sierra got to make it's mark on the property. And boy have they. Crash of the Titans has to be the most visually stunning and free-roaming Crash title to date. It takes a Crash Bandicoot gaming experience to a level which it hasn't reached in years.
The sound effects are great as is the voicing for characters and certain enemies is great. As you approach enemies you can here them having a conversation. The music also has that signature sound you expect from
Crash games.
Now you may be thinking if the game is like that how must the load times be, nearly non-existent, it's wonderful no sooner do you choose your level and it's loaded an ready to play. And events faze in seamlessly.

Overall this is a work of art and an excellent game you'd have to be crazy not to like it.

FAST SHIPPING!
The shipping was wonderful and everything came in as said. I would definitely purchase here again.

Great Case
Deciding that I'm not a really big klutz and only needed a case for taking the ds from one place to another, as opposed to a play through case, I got this one. Everything fits great and feels well protected! Another reviewer said you could personalize it by putting decals on the inside by taking off the rubber, but it didn't work for me. Rubber comes off yeah (not like it falls apart or anything by the way) but i got a black case and nothing i put on the inside shows through the black plastic. Oh well it's still a great case and I'm thinking of making or ordering decals to cover up the Intec logo on the top of the case. Well Worth It.

Very Nice Case to Protect the DS-Lite
This is the perfect case in my opinion. It is hard shell with the Soft Latex liner. It holds six games in the lid and an extra stylus. I dont have to worry now with it banging around in my purse that it will get damaged or something getting into the card slots.

The price Amazon had was far less than locally. Having a lifetime warranty is another plus. This is a must have if you plan on taking your DS with you. I like it is not bulky also.

Highly Recommend.

Keeps my DS safe!
This case is the coolest. It's a little heavy, but I never feel like I'll break the DS if the case falls. It has a secure closure, 6 storage slots for your games, & a storage slot for an extra stylus. I bought it in black so the outside of the case needs a little jazzing up. The durability and protection of the interior makes up for the plain exterior. Look at it as an opportunity to exercise your creativity. Get it!
P.S. I had to rate this as a game so keep that in mind when looking at the star choices.

Good in my Book
Well what to say about it. It's a case designed to comfortably house you Ds Lite, an extra stylus, and 6 Ds games.
I've had this item for a month and I must say it delivers! The games fit in nicely and are not difficult to pull out nor is the game system.
The only problem maybe opening the case sense you have to push down on a buttong and then lift open the top. Not a problem for most but may be for others. It all depends. I personally don't have problems opening it. All in all, I really enjoy my Dura Case and am glad I made the choice in getting it.

Hartz / Clean & Chew / Dog gone Delicious !!
I have a Boston Terrier, and she's pickie. I puchased the Hartz / Clean n' Chew Edible Chew. It's hard to find anything she likes. I purchased the Chew Bones at a price much less than at a pet supply store. It was exactly what I ordered and shipping was as described with in about a week ( give or take ). I also like that I was able to order them in large amounts " 25 count " where dog supplies don't have that many. She has a BIG appetite. Would recommend : Can't beat cost & shipping. Thank You ..

great chew bones
Dog loves them - hard to find in stores. will continue to order them

Mmmmm Good!
I have 2 Maltese dogs that are 2 years old. They just love these chew n' clean bones. My daughter actually found these on Amazon and purchased a few for them for Christmas. I've since placed an order for more. One of my maltese dogs is a chewer, so this is the perfect toy to keep him busy. Most of their toys are demolished, but these hold up very well. I was so glad they came out with different color bones, so I can toss out the older ones. These are a must have to entertain your dog and clean their teeth.

D-lishus
I bought this for my pug, who LOVED it! He had it down to the plastic part by the end of the first day.

Chew N"Clean Dental Duo the Best!
Our puppy, Dude, absolutely loves these Dental Chews! He chews on one every evening before going to sleep....and they last and last. We thought he would get tired of them, but nooooooooooooo way. He has a great time, and his teeth are strong and healthy. Dude gives them a
"2 Paws up."

Enter Edward Carnby, Paranormal Investigator
Despite the title, Alone in the Dark is actually the fifth game in a series that dates back to 1992 and centers around the experiences of Edward "the reptile" Carnby. A paranormal investigator by trade, Carnby is looking for answers to the strange events and horrific creatures reported in and around the park, but gets more than he bargained for when all the mysteries and terrors of the park spill out over the course of one apocalyptic night. It’s the player’s task to avoid the new frightening dangers of the park as you search for the answers to what these supernatural occurrences mean and why they are happening.

Gameplay Based on Full Player Immersion
Packed full of action and vivid in its realism Alone in the Dark goes to the extreme to keep players engaged and immersed by plunging them into the heart of the action in real-time at every turn and challenging them to survive using full movement control. The goal here is to allow players to do or at least feel that they can do more or less whatever is possible in real life, within the game.

Need to avoid a blast of steam or an eruption of fire that has shot up in your path? You can simply side-step it or you can handle the obstacle with a little more panache by using the environment around you, for example by swinging around it using reachable pipes or wires. In another situation you may be challenged by attacking monsters. No problem. You can take the path of least resistance, again by side-stepping them or placing an obstacle between yourself and them, but if you are feeling like taking out a little aggression you can pick up a board, chair, box, etc. and have at it. Nearly anything that you come across that would be usable in real life is usable in game and can be wielded in several different ways.

In addition, game developer Eden Studios has done away with a few in-game conventions in favor of real life upgrades. Instead of old-fashioned health bars Alone in the Dark uses realistic body damage and physiological effects to show players how much damage has been done to Carnby by the new dangerous nightlife of Central Park. Basically this means if Carnby has been taking a licking he’s going to be a little bloody. Monsters use sensory perception of all kinds to find their victims, so players need to keep aware of Carnby’s physical state, as well as the impact he has on his surroundings. Also gone are traditional inventory systems that take players out of the game while you switch or check items in your possession, replaced by an in-game inventory system where items are carried in the folds of Carnby’s trench coat. This allows you to stay in the action the whole time. Sticking with the realism theme, the number of items that Carnby can carry is limited, but since ingenuity is built into the system, items can be combined or their uses altered, mostly with tape, so players can adjust as challenges arise.

TV Style Intensity That Keeps You Hooked
Built around a unique television style episodic narrative game structure, the storyline of Alone in the Dark is split into a number of distinct 30-40 minute episodes, doled out one at a time as you play. This new way to progress through the storyline ensures that players can enjoy the game regardless of the amount of time they have available without ever feeling lost. Each time a saved game is launched, the episode will begin with a video summary of the previous episode to quickly re-immerse the player in the story, removing the need to remember where you were or what you were doing at the end of your last play session. In addition, every episode will also close with a nail-biting, cliff-hanger ending to rattle players’ nerves. And when you choose to leave the game, a video teaser of the next episode will play to leave players always wanting more.

Vivid Photographic Rendering
Even on a bad day, and this will be a bad one, Central Park and New York City are something to see. With Game developer Eden’s proprietary Twilight technology and rendering engine, players can expect to see everything from the City’s famous landmarks to the manifestations of the evil that have been festering in Central Park come to life as if you were there. This lavishly detailed game world takes advantage of highly realistic and advanced cinematographic effects including depth of field, camera focus, numerous light sources, moisture, reflections and High Dynamic Range effects.

Whether it’s the innovative game play, the unique episodic game structure, the advanced physics or the return of a ground-breaking protagonist recast in the modern era, Alone in the Dark holds something for players willing to take on the mysteries and dangers at the heart of Central Park.

innovation at its best!!!
oh my god is this seriously the most under rated game since ff 8. AITD is a great game all from its very cool inventory system to its mystery filled story line.this alone in the dark and i know people are going to disagree is the best in the series without a question.this game also has a AMAZING soundtrack better than ff and halo and so on.now the controls i havent seen not one bug not one as i played through this game three times.you also get to walk around central park and steal cars what more could you want.and this also got my adernaline pumping more then re 4 expecially from the 59th street mission wich i had no problem with. innovation at its best no doubt about this game is worth your money

Wow....
This could be the crappiest game I have ever played. The controls are broken, the camera doesn't work well, the graphics are just okay, the story is far from compelling, and it just isn't fun.

Good Ideas - Poor Execution
Despite being a successor to the early 90s horror series Alone in the Dark, the new Alone in the Dark game is only partially related to those old games. It has its own merits, and its own shortcomings, but does not seem particularly related to previous games and must be considered more as a stand-alone game.

The story of the game involves a doomsday cult trying to summon an ancient evil using Edward Carnby, the private detective and protagonist from Alone in the Dark (the original), who has been brought to the present by unknown means and has amnesia. At first, the evil presence (marked by glowing cracks in walls that move and seek out prey as if alive) is limited to a single building, but it quickly spreads throughout the entirety of New York City, leaving Edward trapped in Central Park.

As far as stories go, this is a decent one for a survival horror game, and there are a lot of good scares and surprises. In the beginning, you're trapped in a building where the very walls are trying to get you, and in addition you're also dealing with zombies - people swallowed up by the cracks brought back as malicious outlets for the main demon to speak and act through. The main demon's voice is kind of bad, though - it's the same deep monster voice that has basically become a cliche in movies about demons, and it makes the glowing cracks go from "unidentified, unintelligent, but malicious entity" to "scary-voiced demon guy". In fact, as far as scares go, the main problem with Alone in the Dark is that you're so rarely alone. Besides the short-lived survivors you encounter throughout the game, you also have a sidekick, Sarah, who comes and goes throughout parts of the game. Well, "sidekick" is a bit generous, since there's not a lot of cooperative gameplay involved. But the point is that there's no feeling of isolation; it's more like a disaster movie that happens to have monsters in it.

The standard gameplay is a fairly regular survival-horror control system. The game is normally played in third-person, with somewhat awkward tank-style controls (IE you have to walk, then turn, then walk, rather then just turning while you walk). The camera in particular is hard to manage, and trying to look around while moving or anything besides walking in a straight line was pretty difficult to manage. Aiming firearms is done exclusively in first-person, but melee combat has a bit of a unique twist to it - it's done in third person like normal gameplay segments, and swinging melee weapons is done by "swinging" the right thumbstick from one direction to another. This works pretty well in most cases, and it changes depending on the weapon being used. For example, with long weapons like 2x4s or swords, you only have the option to swing horizontally or vertically. However, with heavier items like fire extinguishers, you can also use the item as a battering ram to smash down doors.

Most of the enemies in the game can only be temporarily defeated by weapons, and must be consumed by fire to be fully destroyed. To this end, innovating ways to use fire as a weapon is one of the most important parts of the game. The most basic form of this is to light a melee weapon on fire by sticking it into the flames; the flames don't last forever, but they're an instant-kill to most of the monsters that you'll face, and the enemy cowers and flees accordingly. In fact, I would say that swinging a burning 2x4 while your formerly aggressive zombie enemies cower and flee before you is probably the most satisfying part of the game. There are other methods as well that must be thought up with more open thinking - things like molotov cocktails and improvised flamethrowers made out of a can of hair spray and a match. While the "make weapons out of things to defeat your foes" aspect is pretty much limited to fire, the fact that fire is what destroys your enemies makes it at least plausible.

Your inventory in the game is represented by the holsters and pouches in your jacket. The left side of your jacket is used for small items like boxes of ammo or batteries, there's a holster for a gun and a flashlight on your chest, and the right side is used for bottles and cans of various types. The fact that there's a legitimate, actual inventory (you actually look down in first-person to access it, and it's in real-time too so you have to hurry and put stuff together instead of just calmly making a molotov cocktail during a pause) helps with the atmosphere that's being created. In a similar manner, wounds show up on your body and must be healed with either bandages or a first-aid spray. There's no health bar (as with the inventory, all HUD elements are minimal in this game), but you can get a general idea of how injured you are by the status of your wounds (which are still present after being healed, but aren't red and open). You also get a phone/PDA at a point in the game that allows you to make calls and gives you access to a GPS map of the area you are in.

In many situations it's necessary to hotwire a car or activate a fusebox (which is done in real time, often with monsters closing in on you) by picking the right wires to spark together. You're often frantically pressing wires together hoping that they're the right ones but doing it quickly enough to get away from the monsters closing in on your car. This is a pretty good part of the game in an atmospheric sense. Driving the car is another thing, though; the controls are wonky and in most cases the demands of the game as far as getting away from giant apocalyptic cracks in the road are a little bit over-the-top. I spent a good hour on what is really a five-minute segment where you're trying to get away from a giant series of cracking roads and earthquakes because the car didn't turn enough, or it turned too much, or I hit another motorist and the car got stuck, or I hit something at a bad angle. The last one in particular is annoying; at the end of the sequence in question, you're supposed to go flying out through a window in a building, but the first time I got there, I assumed that was what was supposed to happen, but I hit it at an odd angle and I didn't go through (I left a mark on the glass though). The next two times I made it there, I tried looking around for other exits but got blocked off. Only on the last time did I realize what had happened and just drive straight into the glass.

The graphics in the game are pretty good; the best graphics are the fire graphics, which flicker and dance pretty realistically, while the worst are probably the wounds that Edward receives on his body. The idea's neat, but in actuality they're just the same image copy-pasted onto different parts of his body. The "slash that ripped through cloth and pierced the skin" image looks okay when it's on his pants or shirt, but when it's on his jacket it just looks like someone slapped it on like a sticker. Also, you get the same kind of wound no matter how you got the injury. Overall, though, the graphics are decent and atmospheric.

The sound isn't bad, but the music just feels wrong. It's a nice attempt at atmospheric music, but most of the time it's not so much "scary" as it is "epic", with giant sweeping musical interludes and ominous chanting that fits more with "Carmina Burana" than a horror movie. It just feels overstated, and not particularly scary. Furthermore, it gets old pretty quickly, too.

As a whole, the worst part of Alone in the Dark is its execution. It has a lot of good ideas, and most of the elements taken by themselves are pretty sound. However, the actual execution of the ideas - the controls, the situation, the atmosphere - are all really terrible and frustrating, and the game seems more like a battle against the game itself than against any monsters or puzzles. The interactive environments seem more linear than natural; despite the fact that it's supposed to be stuff that's done in a manner that makes it seem "realistic", there's so many scripted sequences that it's hard to get into it.

As a whole, Alone in the Dark deserves a 6/10 - good ideas, but poor execution.

An adventure worth pursuing
While it has its problems (Slippery driving controls and some glitches here and there), Alone in the Dark is a fun and enjoyable game with some innovative puzzles and controls. An interesting plot that'll keep you coming back for more and drive you to complete Edward Carnby's destiny as the Light Bringer.

If you can endure some control problems and difficult sections of the game, you'll have as much fun as I had and discover a satisfying and clever game to play and own.

Great Concept and Production... Awful Game
Alone in the Dark was the first game I ever pre-ordered. I was extremely excited to play another "Resident Evil" style game with next gen physics, graphics and gameplay... I should have waited.

Alone in the Dark starts with a bang, introducing some very impressive cutscene work and EXCELLENT graphics and music. The voice acting is only decent, but the script makes up for it... Anyhow, once the game starts, things take an abrupt turn for the worse. My first thoughts were, "What the heck? This thing wasn't even made for Xbox!" The controls are simply awful, the fighting is very awkward, and the objectives get repetitive. The last time I experienced a game this annoying was "Advanced Warfighter" on the PS2.

Don't buy this game!

Rockstar Table Tennis
I purchased this item believing that I would be able to create my own tennis player, but I am unable to do so. The game itself takes awhile to figure when to return the ball hit to you, but once you get the hang of it the game is alot of fun. You are unable to save your progress if you are in the middle of a match, and you only have several tournments that you can pay in. As the game goes on you begin to unlock player and clothing items. But overall the game could use some help.

Good game
This is a good game and I found its very easy to play once you get used to controls.
It may improve your table tennis skills but cannot replace it anyway.
This game unlike tennis game from Wii sport for two players only.

Its ok
If you are expecting this to be anything like wii sports think again, its not as fun. But i got into it for a day or so. It really sucks if you dont have anyone to play it with. The graphics are ok for the wii. But when your in the main menu every thing seems like you are trying to play super smash bros on a NES. The frame rate is really slow, in the menus. But it smooths out when your actually playing. I would rent this and not buy it, unless buying it only cost 5 more dollars than renting it.

Great cheap fun!
This game is very inexpensive and has great playability. I enjoy it very much.

good
I bought this game to try because my father like very much table tennis.
We played together and it is very good.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
Binding: Video Game
Manufacturer: Capcom
Editorial Review:
The third installment of the series that redefined the survival horror video game genre, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is the best Resident Evil yet. As Jill Valentine, one of the original game's survivors, players must fight for their lives while fleeing a city overrun by hordes of zombies and other hideous creatures mutated by a sinister corporation's biotechnological virus. To make thing worse, a near-invincible monstrosity known as the Nemesis stalks Jill throughout the game, which raises the series' suspense level to an all-new high.

In addition to the constant threat of the Nemesis, Resident Evil 3 features other gameplay elements new to the series: players can now dodge attacks, perform quick 180-degree turns, and create ammunition by mixing gunpowder types. Also, the "Live Selection" feature forces players to make decisions that affect the story's direction.

While none of these additions are particularly groundbreaking, Resident Evil 3 keeps the player in suspense and the action even more intense than in its predecessors, proving that more of same can be a good--make that very, very good--thing in a sequel. --Joe Hon

Pros:

  • Suspenseful and thoroughly engrossing storyline
  • Excellent use of topnotch graphics and sound to establish mood
  • Improved controls and faster load time between scenes
  • The Mercenaries secret game adds serious replay value

Cons:

  • Third-person, fixed-camera-angle point-of-view can be awkward
  • May be too intense for younger players

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Review
As I stated in my review from the Resident Evil: Director's Cut, I've been a fan since '96 when the orginal game came out. Eventually I would go on to buy all the titles. This game I loaned out & never got it back. Aside from learning a lesson, I have missed my game. But, thanks to Amazon & Matt I have gotten it back. The game came in perfect condition & time. That is why I stated before "Buy from Matt!"

Resident Evil 3
You have to give it up for this Resident Evil. This is a must have for any survival horror fan. Very good detail, story line and replay value.

Probably the scariest Resident Evil...
Nemesis is one scary mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So beware!!

He seems to be around every corner imaginable, and he's quite invincible, until the end, so don't get those hopes up! :-)

A decent run-through, but a bit difficult.

Difficulty: 7
Difficulty, compared the hardest Resident Evil (RE Remake): 6
Graphics: 6.5
Characters: 6
Sound: 6.5
Replay-ability: 6 (You get more guns, I believe as well as other hidden bonuses).

3.5 stars.

fun game
this game is very fun, plays quickly and offer a lot new features, wish it was longer though but the game is a little more difficult than the previous resident evils but still fun.

say hello to my litrttle friend Nemsis
This was the third and one of the hardest installement in the series. Esepcially on hard mode. Here are some tips on how to beat this game on hard mode based of a speed run release early this year or late last year. Try to put on infinite help. If seeing how fast you can do this get the shotgun as soon as powerful and use it at close range when neccessary when fighting multiple normal enemies. When attacked by nemissi run away as fast as you can since he is programm to eliminate all sureviving mebers of star a millitray defense force created to expose the illegal umbrela corporetations experiment. The main character is injected with a virus but do to a cermun called thew T cell whgich delays the zombie fication program she still has control over here self. Get the shooty gun. At the end of the game you can hurt nemesis and after turning the power of in the final before the city is nuked of the map you have a choice of finishing nemsis of permantely if you have cheats one or can hit him fromn a distance with the shoot guns or the freeze gas and other weapons that you can find or unlock or if you have enough herbs to restore your health before you die. Running more will get you through the game faster and quicker which you want on hard mode if you don't have life super armoor or infinte shotgun shells or something like that. They don't mention nemsis orgin as clear parts of this game were partly based on the second movie resident evil reserection. Nemesis does not turn on the scientist that experiment on him at the last minute allow Jill a few second head start before the helicopter is shoot down and explodes in the movie but she survives. If you ernjoy this try the super hard resiodent evil four or the diono cris games

The Story of a Grim Homecoming
Homecoming's story follows the nightmare turned real life of Alex Shepherd, a war veteran returning to his hometown of Shepherd's Glen to investigate the sudden disappearance of his kid brother, Josh. From Shepherd's Glen to the foggy streets of dreaded Silent Hill, Alex must face the darkest of horrors in order to find his brother. Struggling with his own grip on reality, it's here that Alex must unravel the mystery behind his nightmares, discover the truth behind his brother's disappearance, and confront the evil that takes hold of his own flesh and blood in the process.

Improved Gameplay
Firmly steeped in the Survival-Horror genre its series has been pivotal in establishing, action in Homecoming remains based on exploration of the terrors residing in the communities surrounding Toluca lake and puzzle-solving skill as a means of surviving them. But to its credit game developer Double Helix refuses to rest on past laurels, choosing instead to include new more accessible gameplay in the hopes of gaining a new audience for Homecoming. Examples of this gameplay include:

Next-Gen Visual and Spatial Features - Every sequel seeks reinvent the namesake game in their series. Homecoming does this in three ways, by adding the ability to toggle between a traditional third-person view and an action-oriented first-person view; by adding fully 3-D physics to the game, creating a realistic range of motion for any and all objects impacted by the player; and by adding transitions or "Hell States" that alter the game's physical landscape at points in the game both in real-time and via cinematics. All three actively change the way players see themselves and in the process create a whole new game experience.

An Enhanced Combat System - Adding to the standard knives, axes, pipes and other melee weapons that made up the arsenal of previous Silent Hill games, Homecoming adds a wide variety of guns and explosives. Fitting with the military back-story of protagonist Alex Shephard, these weapons can be wielded in attacks weighted as weak or strong and can be strung together in combos to stun or incapacitate opponents, who can then be taken out with powerful finishing moves. With practice players can even perform evasive ducks and rolls and follow these up with counterattacks. But remember that enemy AI has also been significantly improved to compensate for your higher degree of combat prowess, and that it's not uncommon to battle multiple monsters simultaneously.

Key Features:

  • Enter the next chapter of Silent Hill as you delve deeper in the tormented history of the town and learn of the evil that surrounds Toluca Lake.
  • Silent Hill: Homecoming is the 1st Silent Hill game designed for Xbox 360.
  • From the murky fog to the ominous shadows, all-new next-gen graphics bring Silent Hill to life like never before.
  • Survive the denizens of Silent Hill with an all-new enhanced combat system that gives you a wide array of attacks and counters.
  • Solve the treacherous and deadly puzzles of Silent Hill to discover its darkest secrets.
  • Silent Hill: Homecoming will feature an all-new soundtrack by acclaimed series composer Akira Yamaoka.
Exceptional Replay Value
Although Alex Shepherd is the only playable character in Silent Hill: Homecoming there are many other important characters--some returning from earlier games in the series--that can have a dramatic impact on the game. When interacting with these, players are given a choice in how to proceed via dialog trees. Will you take the short route letting only the search for your brother guide you or will you explore the nooks and crannies that make up the mystery of Silent Hill hidden in the small talk you share with non-playable characters? The choice is yours, with different paths providing for possible alternate endings each time you delve into the game.

A Frighteningly Masterful Soundtrack
All games in the Survival-Horror genre seek to create tension and unease through sound and Homecoming does this masterfully through the compositions and sound engineering of Akira Yamaoka. Having scored the music and effects for dozens of video game titles, including all of the previous games in the Silent Hill series, Yamaoka is considered a master at using sound to illicit a response.

Made for theaters than for consoles.
I am a die hard fan of the silent hill series, i wish they wld come out with the first one again with better graphics, it was such an amazing game. the thing about homecoming is the plot is too straight forward, not the typical silent hill way. and why the hell does the game feel a little like Eli Roths HOSTEL and other movies like SAW. too much of an influence there, stick with the jacobs latter guys. next the combat was a clever addition to the game but it was very frustrating at first, needs to be tweaked for silent hill 6. the graphics were very well done, the fog was good as ever, next they shld re-visit the school from the original silent hill, that was one of my fav. locations and the ghost children were creepy as hell. and it was nice to see pyramid head but it was a shame that he was only a guest appearance, why not fight him or have some more interaction with him, over all for a western company to make the game it was like seeing a B rated horror movie had its moments but in the end keeps you waiting to the next great thing comes, that being Dead Space.

Not the Silent Hill I remember
Homecoming is a good horror game, just not a good Silent Hill game. This little jewel does not stand out from the plethora of other horror titles like Resident Evil or The Suffering. In fact, in many places I felt like I was playing The Suffering instead of Silent Hill. It pains me to say, but there will never be another Silent Hill 1 or 2 again. I think the old school Silent Hill fans like me will just have to wait until some genius dreams up another physiological horror title that will be more powerful than the fear the original Silent Hills instilled in us.

Rest assured, though, that this is in no way a bad game. With an American team building upon a Japanese horror concept, this game plays like a toned down version of The Suffering. You have extremely violent creatures coming after you in this game, and Alex Shepard, the man you control, to dispose of them acts just as violently. A simple combo system of three fast attacks and one slow strong attack is what you will be doing throughout the whole game. In addition to this easy system, you must dodge the attacks of your enemies, especially if they are bigger than you, until you are able to attack them from the side or from behind. I always thought that if the other Silent Hills were lacking something in their combat, it was this. I'm actually glad of it.

Other than that, there is really nothing new about this game. Shepard's Glen, a town neighboring Silent Hill, is being swallowed up by fog and the streets are infested with creatures as the evil of Silent Hill spreads. An idea borrowed from Silent Hill 3 and The Room. Alex Shepard returns home to visit his family in Shepard's Glen to find only his mother in a catatonic state and his father and brother missing. The story that unravels as he searches for them in both Shepard's Glen and Silent Hill is rather disturbing. The other characters you meet, especially the four founders of Shepard's Glen, are completely insane, having all broken a sacred vow with certain demonic deities. Their actions and behavior remain completely inexplicable to the player probably up until you play through the game a second time and have a better idea of what's going on. This is good, since I don't like answers being spelled out for you. It's a good story, but it is not as emotional as in other Silent Hill games. You want to know what's going on, but you are not as intimately involved with the character as players were with James Sunderland or Harry.

Atmosphere is important in a Silent Hill game and the lack of creativity as you explore this world is disappointing. Much like Origins, the world of Silent Hill just seems so bland. What I mean is that whenever you walked into a building in the first games, you saw many personal belongings of the people who once inhabited the town. Each apartment left behind the personality of the person who had lived there, the bar you had to walk through still had an unfinished game of cards on the table or empty beer bottles lying around. In this game, it's like the people just packed their things and left instead of mysteriously vanishing and what we explore is empty rooms. Boring, right? Even the prison cells of Silent Hill 2 had articles of its previous inhabitants lying around. Learning a little something about the lives of all these missing people in a town now overrun by monstrosities did not just have a haunting effect, but it brought the town to life and gave it a personality.

I don't remember so many big open areas to explore in Silent Hill. Call me claustrophobic, but narrow alleyways and hallways creates a real sense of helplessness, having little space to run or move when you know something will be coming out of the darkness soon.

And the flashlight in this game is so weak it's almost not worth having. I like to turn down the brightness of a horror game. So it's nice to have a flashlight that illuminates things nicely, whether it be a bed, a wall, the floor in front of you or that creature standing in the corner. That was a huge highlight in the first few games.

Still, Homecoming delivers a worthy experience for anybody who is into the horror genre, especially at the beginning of the game that somebody at Team Silent did a good job with.

I loved the music.

And the alternate realities that Alex transverses through can be mind bending.

Best Silent Hill since Silent Hill 2
This game really redeemed the Silent Hill series after the disappointment that was Silent HIll 4: The Room. Check it out!

Do not buy if you use inverted controls.
This game is totally unplayable for me, because it does not support inverted camera controls. I tried to like it, and I played for a few hours, but I became so frustrated by always looking at the ground, that I had to stop playing. And Konami refuses to patch the game! I want my money back.

Not for the impatient gamer
I love the Silent Hill games, always have and probably always will. I have enjoyed the creepy atmosphere in this current game, and am interested in finding out what ending I will get. I like how you can change the game by responding to conversations in different ways.

My complaint is that they have made the game a little too hard for the casual, impatient gamer. I hate that you can no longer save up ammo for the hard creatures - you are limited to a certain amount per gun. Yes, that makes it more realistic, but it makes it very hard as well. Without the extra ammo I find myself running out and dying far more often, which frustrates me and makes me want to stop playing. I was so frustrated the last time I played I haven't played again for almost 2 weeks, when I used to get so into the game I played every day until I finished it.

Overall, I would recommend the game, but would warn the buyer that they will need a lot of patience as they play.
